This book was so funny. The length that Patrick goes through to get Jada to notice him was quite comical. Patrick was definitely a loveable geek. I truly enjoyed this story! It was different and unique. It was also very short but that didn't bother me because the author wrapped everything up nicely. The secret admirer tactic was awesome and I enjoyed the way Patrick slowly revealed himself to his best friend. This one is definitely a keeper!Product details

Lucky Charms edition by Marie Rochelle Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Jada Michaels is at the fed up with all the loser guys that her friends have been beating down her door recently. She wants a real relationship that will bring her the marriage she always hoped would come her way. She wonders if there is any man out there who knows the meaning of treating a woman the way she should be treated.
Patrick Kaye desires a woman who can look past his geek exterior and discover the real man within. Patrick and Jade are the best of friends, and while Jada has never looked at him as anything but, Patrick is ready for her to exactly what has been right in front of her all this time. Will Jada finally break the glass box she has Patrick trapped in called "friendship" or is he destined to nothing more than a platonic companion?
Jada just wants a little happiness in her life with a man who values her, while all Patrick wants is the one woman he desires above all else to look at him for the man that he is. With neither Patrick nor Jada wanting to make the first move, you wonder in the two of them will end up with only their friendship or if they take it a little further.
Lucky Charm is great story and you'll enjoy every minute of it. I truly enjoyed this story. It has you smiling one minute and gasping the next. Marie Rochelle has created a story you never want to end and when it does you want to read it all over again.
The other reviews are right. This story was cute, as in syrupy sweet to the point of being corny, but it was a fun way to pass 45mins. Patrick and Jada are supposedly best friends and co-workers. Patrick has a crush on Jada but she has him firmly placed in the friend category. Jada is tired of dating losers and wants someone to romance her. Sounds like a great premise. The execution though needed some work. First, I never got the impression that Jada and Patrick were best friends. Their relationship seemed very stilted and awkward. Second, Patrick went right past 'nerdy' straight into being downright lame. He wore mismatched clothes that were two sizes too big because he wanted someone to love him for his mind, not his body...really?? I guess that would have made sense if he was beating girls off with a stick, but he purposely made himself ugly and then bemoaned the fact that he couldn't get a date because girls thought he was nerdy. Made.no.sense. Many of this 'thoughts' seemed more feminine than masculine, and I'm not sure how old the author is but if I had to read about the juices flowing to her 'kitty kat' one more time.... The story was cute though and Patrick and Jada's first kiss was hot! A good read if you can get it for free. It's 60 pages long.
I really liked this book, the story line was great. But I feel like there could of been more to the story, the book end too quickly.
This story was cute. It had the potential to be so much more. The development of feelings for Patrick was rushed. One minute she finds him cute then he is sexy after a kiss, then suddenly she loves him after the first sexual encounter. This story was too short with a rushed ending. I thought Patrick was in too much awe of Jada. I liked the illusion to the Clark Kent--Superman thing Patrick had going, however the change into a more assertive man could have been written better.
Loved this story. She loved him in her own way, as a friend first. And it was so sweet how he slowly unveiled himself--like a butterfly. Let them know you like romance and they will show you what they got! This one would be a keeper.
PLOT Patrick is in love with Jada but he doesn't know how to approach her. After a conversation where she confesses that she wants to be romanced, he decides to become her secret admirer, leaving her gifts with loving notes. Jada complicates matters when she askes Patrick for his help in identifying her admirer. In return, he asks her to help him attract the woman of his dreams. What Jada doesn't know is that the woman is her.
Jada and Patrick are likable. They sound like an attractive couple.
The story idea is good, but it's not very well developed. Beyond Jada asking for Patrick's help, this topic is not explored with any depth. He never does anything. Likewise, Jada does very little to assist Patrick in attracting his perfect woman.
The main characters actions don't make sense at times. For example, Patrick wears loose clothes becuase he didn't want a woman who wanted him for his body. What guy has to worry about that? What guy would worry about that?
3 STARS Lucky Charms is an average read. The writing wasn't bad but it was nothing exceptional. I found it a little boring.
